UCT Specialties Product A0700 (N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane) Used as Coating on Glass Coverslips to Aid in Growth of Mouse ES Cells

The presence of the A0700 on the glass coverslips provided an excellent environment for the growth of the cells.  The covering of the glass coverslips with A0700 also eliminates the adhesion of the growing cells to the glass coverslip.

The paper studies the mechanism of how DNA double strand breaks and interstrand cross-links require the homologous recombination (HR) pathway, a potentially error-free process that utilizes a homologous sequence as a repair template.  RAD51, the eukaryotic ortholog has been found to be an important component in the HR process.  RAD51 polymerizes on the DNA to form a nucleoprotein filament to initiate the HR process.  It was shown that FBH1 helicase regulated the activity of FAD51 in the HR process.  Mutant mouse embryonic stem cell lines with a deletion in the FBH1 helicase domain fails to limit RAD51 chromatin association and exhibits hyper-recombination.

The results of this work were consistent with similar studies previously reported.
